Machine Shop Sales Executive

X-Cel Technologies, Inc. is a leading precision machine shop in the south suburbs of Chicago. Here at X-Cel Technologies we manufacture complex parts that require state-of-the-art equipment and high-level expertise in machining. X-Cel Technologies is seeking an experienced Machine Shop Sales Executive to join our team.

The sales executive is responsible for the planning, direction, and ongoing management of machine shop sales activities with the objective of maximizing sales growth and profitability. In a close working relationship with the President, the focus will be to identify and develop new, high value business opportunities, while fostering existing business.

**Job Responsibilities and Duties: **

  • Drive all company sales activities, including goals, performance metrics, and the identification of new business opportunities related to CNC and machine shop markets.
  • Develop and nurture customer relationships and opportunities through the entire sales cycle.
  • Host or travel to meet with prospective and existing customers to promote the company’s services, to learn about sourcing needs, and to uncover all short and long-term opportunities.
  • Communicate directly with customers and our internal team regarding all technical aspects of their RFQs in preparation for quoting.
  • Help ensure X-Cel’s quotations are delivered in a timely fashion and followed up in a timely manner; ensure pertinent feedback is offered to the appropriate team members.
  • Arbitrate and negotiate between the company and customer, where possible, to close on quoted opportunities.
  • Grow our overall business through new customer projects and diversification of our current business portfolio (Networking and lead generation)
  • Ability to manage complex customer/supplier relationships
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills with emphasis on the ability to successfully translate technical knowledge into effective sales presentations
  • Work closely with management and internal team members in order to smoothly coordinate and interface all sales activities with the functional areas of the company.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of machine shop business development experience and proven track record
  • Machining manufacturing experience (CNC preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field
